Product Construction
Silvalea are always researching new fabric technologies to enhance our range of products.
We construct all slings and patient transfer aids with a range of features; clips, straps and fabrics to ensure safe, comfortable, and dignified transfers. Each sling is specifically designed and constructed to withstand different transfer scenarios and each sling and transfer aid strictly adheres to standards set out in International Standard 10535 for testing and are designed and manufactured to British Standards BS EN ISO 9001. This means that Silvalea constructs products to the highest level to ensure maximum patient safety and comfort. All Silvalea products are classified as Class 1 medical devices.

Poly Mesh

A strong and durable fabric commonly used for bathing and hygiene slings. The open weave allows water to drain through the fabric and dry more quickly. The mesh fabric is structured and produces a solid hard wearing sling, making it an ideal sling fabric for use within all residential and acute environments.

Woven Polyester  (Continental)

Silva-Superfine® PLUS

This fabric has been specifically chosen to assist with a sling that can be left behind a patient for extended periods. The 3D compression spacer fabric helps to redistribute weight and reduce pressure build-up. This fabric is soft and comfortable with a 2 way stretch that moulds to the patient. This fabric is suitable for bathing where additional comfort is needed.

Silva-Superfine with COOLMAX®Â

The Silva-Superfine with COOLMAX®  fabric is designed to wick moisture away from the body and enhance fabric drying rate keeping patient feeling cool and dry. This fabric is soft and comfortable with a 2 way stretch that moulds to the patient when lifted. This fabric is suitable for bathing where additional comfort is needed.
